Cleverbug is a smartphone app that allows users to create and send printed, personalised cards from their mobile device.

OSC was given the exciting challenge to help ideate and create the Cleverbug brand from scratch. This presented an incredible opportunity to build and develop a high-energy brand intended to disrupt the $20 billion global greeting card industry by leveraging smartphone technologies.

We developed a brand designed to create mass appeal with our intended users. The brand personality is vibrant, youthful and energetic. Brand consistency was vital for all online communications. This included the key messaging on Facebook advertising, and a modular design for the Cleverbug website birthday reminder notifications, order confirmation emails, eCards, and download and log-in pages.

We also played an instrumental role in designing Cleverbug’s intuitive smartphone app, featuring a compelling design and an animation sequence that allowed for a simple and easily accessible user interface experience.

Cleverbug now has over one billion users on Facebook and 20 million birthdays in its database. The app has been downloaded in 200 countries with 6.5 million birthdays now in the system.

Cleverbug was so successful, it made its American television premiere on The Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda.
